Disappointed VIP

I paid $130 for the VIP experience and I felt like I was completely ripped off. The VIP experience consisted of a 10 minute sound check and a free scarf. The people managing the concert let us in the building for the sound check then made us leave and wait outside until just before doors opened. We were let back into the building about 5 minutes before the doors open time, but we were not let into the room where the concert would be. We were made to wait outside the doors for another 10 to 15 minutes. At this point we were told that we were not allowed to sit in the few seats that were available because we had not purchased an additional ticket for seats. We had already paid an extra $100 for the VIP experience and no one told us that this did not include seats. The only thing that had been said about seating before this was that seating was limited and available on a first come/first serve basis. We understood the limited seating, but thought the early access would give us a good chance of getting a seat.

The concert was also underwelming. Doors opened at 7:30pm, but the concert didn't start until 9pm. So people were pretty much just buying drinks for an hour and a half. I was also not expecting that there wouldn't be a band to accompany Allen Stone. Allen Stone is a great singer, but this was pretty much a one man band experience.

Overall, this was a pretty disappointing experience that I feel like I completely overpaid for. My impression of the night was that this was mostly an opportunity for the venue to sell drinks.
